Meet VILDA-member Anna Löfgren

Our members shape what VILDA is and where it is going. Through experience, curiosity, and a willingness to share knowledge, they help move both people and the life sciences industry forward.

We are proud to start by highlighting one of our board members, Anna Löfgren.

Anna has more than 28 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, spanning GxP quality, manufacturing, and supply chain across the full product lifecycle, from development to commercial products. She has held senior leadership roles for over 25 years, leading global teams and organisations in both small and large pharma companies. Her background includes an MSc in Quality in Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology, a BSc in Analytical Chemistry, and a diploma in Supply Chain.

Below explore Anna’s reflections on three questions:

  • What inspired her to join the VILDA network

  • What drives her passion in her current role, and how she hopes to support others in the network

  • What advice she would give to the next generation of leading women in life sciences

What inspired you to join the VILDA network?

“I truly believe that representation matters. Throughout my career, I’ve seen how powerful it is when women support and elevate each other. This network gives me the chance to connect with inspiring peers, share experiences, and learn together. For me, it’s not just about professional growth—it’s about creating a space where future female leaders feel empowered and confident to take their place at the table. I want to contribute to that change.”

What drives your passion in your current role, and how do you hope to support others in our network?

“It’s the knowledge that the work we do directly impacts patients’ lives. I am currently working in the GxP Quality area and ensuring quality isn’t just a process—it’s a commitment to trust and safety, and that motivates me. I am also passionate about leading with integrity and creating an environment where teams feel empowered to deliver. I hope to support others by sharing my experiences, listening, and encouraging authentic leadership. I believe that when women lift each other up, we break barriers and open doors for the next generation.”

What advice would you give to the next generation of leading women in life sciences?

“Be bold about your ambitions. Don’t let fear or doubt hold you back—every challenge you face is an opportunity to grow stronger and pave the way for others.
Seek out mentors, build your network, and support each other. Leadership is not always about fitting in; it’s about standing out and driving change.”
