A roundtable on women’s health, policy and growth

May 27, 2026 @ 17:30 - 19:30

A market worth its weight in silver – from healthcare issue to growth opportunity

Women’s health is gaining attention as a strategic area for better health outcomes, stronger workforce participation and long-term economic growth.

Closing the Nordic health gap could generate up to USD 30–50 billion in economic value through improved health and increased productivity. Yet women’s health remains structurally underfunded and under-innovated.

Ahead of Sweden’s 2026 election, issues such as sick leave, labour participation, workforce supply and healthcare efficiency will be high on the agenda. This event explores how strategic investment in women’s health could become a policy lever and a growth opportunity for life sciences.

The evening

VILDA in collaboration with Paues Åberg Communications, invites policymakers and industry representatives to a forward-looking discussion on the role of women’s health in policy, innovation and economic growth.

The discussion will explore:

  • why women’s health remains structurally underfunded despite its societal and economic impact
  • how improved health outcomes can support workforce participation, productivity, and resilience
  • what role policy can play in accelerating innovation and investment in women’s health
  • whether women’s health can become the next major growth sector within life sciences
