About us

VILDA is a vibrant network committed to empowering women in life sciences. We advance a healthier and more inclusive industry by closing the diversity gap, supporting women in leadership, and turning networks into opportunities.

We are a non-profit, independent and neutral platform with no commercial agenda. Our members sponsor one another, share access to investors and roles, and develop for leadership positions. This creates a virtuous cycle of appointments and impact that lifts Swedish life science.

Our mission:

To empower female leaders in life science. Together with male leaders we strive to close the diversity gap, advancing a more inclusive and competitive Swedish life science industry.

Our community includes:

  • female leaders in life sciences, both current and aspiring.
  • life science companies and organizations, including academic institutions and health care, seeking to develop and enhance their competitiveness through diverse talents. 
  • stakeholders like government bodies, policymakers, and investors who recognize the value of diversity in driving innovation and growth.

VILDA mentorship programme

We run a mentorship programme designed to strengthen female leadership across Life Science.
The upcoming round takes place January–June 2026. 

Applications open 17 November–19 December 2025.

We create value for our members through:

  • access to events and networking meetings, including lectures and panel debates
  • professional promotion aiming for boards and leadership positions through inclusion in VILDAs recruitment database
  • training and development programs tailored to leadership in life sciences, in collaboration with partners and sponsors
  • creating synergies with other relevant networks including close collaboration with sister organizations WILD in Denmark and Norway
